Jack Vero

Jack Vero is the frontman, bandleader, songwriter, and guitarist behind Lily of the Valley, a high-energy bluegrass band that has been building momentum up and down the East Coast over the past three years.

Originally formed in New York’s Hudson Valley and Catskills, Lily of the Valley has grown into a band of some of the finest musicians from New York to Nashville, where the group is now based. Their sound is rooted firmly in bluegrass tradition, but it carries a character all its own—driving instrumentals, tight harmonies, and a mix of fun, danceable songs alongside wistful and pensive songwriting.

Much of Jack’s approach to songwriting is inspired by artists like Townes Van Zandt, Gordon Lightfoot, Dave Evans, and countless other great storytellers. Their influence can be heard in the band's songs, where thoughtful lyrics and vivid storytelling meet the energy and momentum of bluegrass. The result is music that can get a crowd moving while still giving them something to sit with.

Jack’s guitar playing is deeply rooted in the bluegrass tradition. He draws particular inspiration from legendary flatpickers Norman Blake, Tony Rice, and, above all, Doc Watson. Those influences are woven into both his playing and his approach to performing—from the way he flatpicks to the energy and showmanship he brings to the stage.

That connection to Doc Watson even carries into the guitar Jack plays. He is endorsed by Gallagher Guitar Company and plays a Gallagher G-50, built using some of the same machinery and methods associated with the guitars made for Doc Watson. For Jack, it’s more than just an instrument—it’s a tangible connection to one of the musicians who has shaped his musical life.
